Champaign is where G Crew Automotive is based, and where most of our work happens. The Industrial Avenue corridor running north from University Avenue is dense with the kind of build community we serve: diesel shops, off-road outfitters, custom-stereo installers, body shops doing late-model lifts. We’ve fitted galaxy headliners on two-tone Silverados parked outside Buffalo Wild Wings on Prospect, underbody kits on F-250s being built in driveways off Bradley Avenue, and rock-light kits on Wranglers heading out to Sangamon River trailheads on weekends.

The city’s automotive enthusiast scene splits roughly three ways. The University of Illinois students lean toward small-modification builds: interior LED accents, color-changing rock lights paired with their existing under-cabin sound systems, the occasional headliner project on a parents-bought daily driver. The off-road and overland community clusters in north Champaign and runs more underbody and rock-light work — kits that survive Champaign winters and the salt that comes with them. The show-build crowd, smaller but consistent, drives combo installs that take weeks: full perimeter underbody plus rock lights plus interior LED zones, color-synced to one app.

Our shop space lets us do most installs without leaving the building. Install timelines for Champaign customers are usually two-to-five business days depending on the kit’s complexity and the vehicle’s accessibility. For mobile-only requests (you don’t want to leave the truck overnight), we can stage front-end work at your driveway and finish wiring + controller setup at the shop the following day.

We serve the broader Champaign area — Savoy, Mahomet, Tolono — at shop rates without distance surcharges. Customers from outside the city limits are welcome at the shop without an appointment for walk-through quotes; the front desk has the consultation calendar visible if you want to lock a slot on the spot.
