Galaxy Headliners

Fiber-optic constellations woven into your vehicle's headliner — a private night sky overhead.

Starting at $400

A galaxy headliner replaces the underside of your vehicle’s roof panel with a hand-laid fiber-optic constellation. Hundreds of pin-thin fibers emerge through the headliner fabric to deliver a true point-source glow — not LEDs visible at the surface, not a printed sticker, not a projection. Just light, where the night sky would be if the roof were glass.

What you actually get

A typical install lays 200–400 fibers through the headliner foam, each terminating flush with the cabin-side surface. The other end of every fiber bundles into a single illuminator module hidden behind the A-pillar trim or above the headliner. The illuminator carries a 5W LED engine that supplies all the stars at once.

The fibers themselves are inert — they don’t carry electrical current into the cabin and they don’t generate heat. Light enters at the illuminator end and exits as a star at the cabin end. That separation is what lets us put hundreds of points of light into a fabric panel without violating fire-code or warranty terms.

Pattern options

  • Single-tone classic — pure white or pure cyan, no twinkle. The most subtle and the most cinematic.
  • Twin-tone gradient — warmer points across the front of the cabin, cooler points toward the rear. Suggests a real night-sky color shift.
  • Twinkle module — randomized brightness pulses at 0.5–2 Hz across the field. Reads as “stars at the edge of focus” rather than static pinpoints.
  • Shooting-star module — a faint streak of light traverses the headliner every 30–90 seconds. Calibrated to feel rare, not gimmicky.

We mix-and-match these on the same install. Cards on the table at consultation; you tell us what you want before we cut.

Vehicles we work on most

Pickups (F-150, Silverado, Ram), SUVs (Tahoe, Suburban, Expedition, 4Runner), and crossovers. Sedan headliners are smaller and tighter to work — possible but priced individually. Convertible soft-tops are not viable; we’ll redirect you to interior LED accents instead.

What it costs

Starting at $400 for a compact-cabin single-tone install. Truck crew-cab and full-size SUV installs typically land $600–$900 depending on fiber count, controller features, and headliner condition. Final quote is locked at consultation; no surprises after work starts.

Our Process

  1. Consultation

A 15-minute review of your headliner condition, vehicle make/model, and the look you want — single tone, twin tone, shooting stars, dim-from-driver-control.

  2. Design + spec

We pick fiber count, density, color tone, and any animation modules. You approve the layout sketch before any work starts.

  3. Install

Headliner panel comes down. Fibers route through pre-drilled pathways and back to a hidden illuminator. Reinstall, button-up, factory finish.

  4. Walk-through

You sit in the driver seat at dusk. We tune brightness and any controller mapping. You drive away with installed-it-myself-no-you-didn-t fit and finish.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will this affect my factory headliner?

No. We remove the panel cleanly, route fibers through the foam and substrate, and reinstall. There are no visible holes, no glue residue, no warranty-voiding modifications to the vehicle structure. If you ever want it removed, the headliner panel can be swapped without trace damage.

  • How many stars can fit?

A standard install runs 200–400 fibers. Larger headliners (extended-cab pickups, full-size SUVs) can hold 500–600. Density is a preference call — denser feels immersive, sparser feels editorial. We show you reference photos at consultation so the choice is visual, not numeric.

  • Can I control colors and brightness from the driver seat?

Yes. The illuminator module ships with an RF remote and most kits support a smartphone app. Brightness, color temperature, twinkle pattern, and shooting-star frequency are all adjustable in the cabin without any aftermarket switches.

  • What about heat and longevity?

The illuminator runs cool — fibers carry only the light, not the heat. The LED engine is rated for 30,000+ hours of use, and the fibers are inert plastic so they outlast the vehicle. We warranty the install for two years against fiber failure or driver malfunction.
